ASiF is thrilled to welcome fiber artist, Tayna Vernon! As a 10 year veteran instructor of the Tin Thimble Sewing & Fiber Arts Center in Loomis, CA, Tanya has created more than 20 varieties of wool felting workshops!
Needle felting is a traditional craft technique used to stiffen and shape wool to create a decorative sculptural forms, functional items and wearable art.
Students learn wool felting with special needles using natural silk, and various fibers to create 3D forms with a wide range of luxurious textures. Create unique gifts such as scarves, shawls, gloves, brooches, hair pins, toy animals, vases, lamps, Christmas decorations, cat’s nap nests, compositions of flowers and more!
You can even paint pictures with wool! Tanya will illustrate how to create pictures sharing her very own unique felting technique using wool fibers. A great idea – for portraits of pets using their own fur!
Students will learn the most modern methods of wool felting and techniques to reduce felting time!

This painting with wool course teaches a combination of wet and needle felting techniques. Wool fibers are a unique material that will help you create a picture with a watercolor effect, even if you've never painted pictures! Wool painting is an accessible and easy to handle material that helps develop one’s creative expression and personal artistry.
Students will learn the most modern methods of wool felting and techniques to reduce felting time!
February 8, 10am - 2pm / 4 hour workshop $65.
Wet Felting Class - Bracelet Pleasure / Class is good for beginners!In this class you will learn new ways to quickly felt from wool and learn how to use the template. You will make a lightweight, elegant and pleasant to the touch bracelet without a clasp.
